Anchorage mayor proposes pay raises for executives
About the same time Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan was talking about an $18 million budget gap and considering asking employee unions for cutbacks he authorized a 3 percent pay raise for executive city employees.

Witnesses say weather clear in Denali plane crash
Witnesses to the Aug. 1 plane crash in Denali National Park told investigators the cargo plane was flying low and slow over the park before it made a steep left banking turn and went down.
