Plaintiffs seek judgment in lawsuit against Palin
Plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against Sarah Palin are asking a judge to declare that the Alaska governor broke state law two years ago when she failed to issue a proclamation for a celebration commemorating the freeing of U.S. slaves.

Alaska’s unemployment rate steady around 8 percent
State labor officials say Alaska’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was essentially unchanged in June, staying around 8 percent.

Grandma has to die
With the next government program “Obama Care,” all the money your parents and mine have paid into Medicare will be lost. When your grandma needs hip surgery, tell her sometimes the best thing for old people is no treatment at all. President Obama has inferred such. That’s not the “change” AARP told us about.

Waterfront vision now fading away
I am saddened to read that the Planning Commission has failed to follow the Comprehensive and Waterfront Plans in approving the Mental Health Trust’s request to build a 75-foot office building at the sub-port near the downtown Coast Guard station.

In all the opinions proposed on road access up Lynn Canal, there is one possibility that has been glossed over and another not even mentioned, or at least I haven’t seen it.
